The uGuard2804 TVS diode is a low capacitance protection device specifically designed to meet the EOS (Electrical Over-Stress) protection requirements of Gigabit Ethernet interfaces; specifically, the protection of sensitive PHY (physical layer) chips. The uGuard2804 has low leakage (“idle”) current, low junction capacitance and demonstrates minimal change in junction capacitance, as a function of bias voltage variations, making it an ideal protection solution for GbE lines and interfaces in accordance with the transient protection immunity requirements of GR-1089.
Features
• High peak power capability of 120W (8x20μs)
• High peak pulse current of 10A (8x20μs)
• High ESD withstand capability, VESD, of +/- 30kV (air and contact per IEC 61000-4-2)
• Very low capacitance of 3.2pF typical (VR=2.8V)
• Capacitive variations of 1.3pF typical (VR: 0V to 2.8V)
• Low idle / standby current of 30nA typical (VRWM=2.8V, TA=25oC)
• Industry standard SO-8 package / footprint
Applications
• High speed data lines
• PHY chips in GbE applications
• LAN/WAN end-products
• Switching systems
